CERTIFIED
AUTO GLASS REPAIR,

WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT
& SPECIALTY GLAZING
IN MICHIGAN

From 30-minute rock chip repairs and OEM-spec windshield replacements to heavy-duty RV glazing and commercial fleet maintenance, Simbol Auto Glass restores your vehicle’s structural safety across Hazel Park, Waterford, Shelby Township, and Wyandotte—in-shop or at your door.

Your vehicle’s glass does far more than block wind and rain on Michigan highways. Your front windshield provides up to 45% of your cabin's structural strength in a head-on collision and up to 60% in a rollover accident, while acting as the backstop for proper passenger airbag deployment.

At Simbol Auto Glass, we treat every installation as a critical life-safety procedure. Using OEM and OEE quality glass paired with fast-cure, high-modulus urethanes, our certified technicians service daily commuters, luxury SUVs, commercial work trucks, and motorhomes across Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne counties.

Passenger Vehicle Glass: Windshields, Doors, Back Glass & Sunroofs

Michigan roads are notorious for loose gravel, construction debris, and rapid winter freeze-thaw cycles that turn tiny stone nicks into edge-to-edge cracks overnight. We stock and install exact-fit glass for all domestic and imported cars, pickup trucks, minivans, and SUVs.

Front Windshield Repair (Rock Chips & Bullseyes)

If a stone chip is smaller than a quarter, shorter than three inches, and sits outside the driver's immediate line of sight, we can often save your factory windshield seal. Using vacuum-pressure injectors, we extract trapped air and moisture from the impact point and cure optical-grade resin with UV light—preventing the crack from spreading and restoring structural clarity in under 30 minutes.

Full Laminated Windshield Replacement

When a crack reaches the outer edge of the glass or penetrates the inner vinyl safety layer, full replacement is required. We carefully remove the damaged windshield without scratching your pinchweld, apply anti-corrosion primers, and bond your new laminated windshield to strict Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

Acoustic, Heated & Sensor-Equipped Windshields

Modern windshields house rain sensors, solar coatings, acoustic noise-reducing interlayers, heated wiper parks, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) camera brackets. By matching your 17-digit VIN, we ensure your replacement glass includes every factory feature your vehicle left the assembly line with.

Auto Door Glass, Vent Glass & Quarter Windows

Unlike laminated front windshields, most side windows are engineered from tempered safety glass designed to shatter into dull pebble-sized cubes upon impact. When a break-in or road hazard shatters your side window, our technicians remove the interior door panel, thoroughly vacuum all broken glass out of the door cavity and window tracks, test the window regulator motor, and install brand-new side glass.

Rear Windshield (Back Glass) & Defroster Replacement

A shattered rear windshield exposes your interior to the elements and disables your rear defroster grid. We remove all broken tempered glass from your trunk or cargo area, install a new factory-tinted rear windshield, and reconnect your electrical heating grids and integrated radio antennas.

Car Sunroof & Panoramic Moonroof Glass Replacement

Overhead rocks from highway semi-trucks frequently crack sunroof and moonroof panels. We clean broken glass fragments out of delicate sliding tracks, lubricate the guide rails, and install precision-fit replacement sunroof glass to guarantee a quiet, leak-free seal.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Auto Glass Repair & Replacement

How long do I have to wait to drive my car after windshield replacement?

With Simbol Auto Glass’s advanced fast-cure urethanes, the safe drive-away time is typically 30 to 60 minutes after installation is completed, depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Waiting the full cure time ensures your windshield stays firmly bonded if your airbags deploy or you hit a pothole.

Should I wait to wash my car after getting new auto glass?

Yes, wait at least 24 to 48 hours before taking your vehicle through a high-pressure automated car wash after a windshield or back glass replacement. High-pressure jets and drying blowers can disturb the outer urethane seal before it fully cures. Leave your retention tape in place for the first 24 hours.

How do I know if my windshield needs to be repaired or completely replaced?

A windshield can usually be repaired if the rock chip is smaller than a quarter (or a crack is shorter than 3 inches), sits at least 2 inches away from the black outer edge of the glass, and is not directly in the driver’s primary line of sight. Any crack longer than 3 inches or reaching the edge of the windshield requires full replacement for rollover safety.

What information do I need for an exact auto glass quote?

Have your vehicle's Year, Make, Model, the specific piece of glass damaged, and your 17-digit VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) ready. Your VIN allows our team to instantly verify exact factory glass options like rain sensors, acoustic interlayers, heated wipers, or lane-departure camera brackets.
